Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have expressed confidence that the party will approach the 2027 general elections with renewed unity, assuring members that no aggrieved aspirant or stakeholder will be sidelined in the ongoing reconciliation process.
Chairman of the Oyo APC Reconciliation Committee, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, and Co-chairman, Professor Taoreed Adedoja, gave the assurance during their acceptance speeches after the inauguration of the committee at the party’s state secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan.
They commended the Chief Moses Adeyemo led State Executive Committee for initiating the reconciliation move, describing it as a timely and strategic step toward rebuilding cohesion within the party.
Earlier, the Oyo APC Chairman, Chief Moses Adeyemo, charged members of the committee to deploy their experience, credibility and wisdom in resolving grievances arising from the party’s congresses and recent primary elections. According to him, while the exercises generated dissatisfaction among some members, the leadership is determined to ensure such concerns do not weaken the party ahead of the governorship and other elections in 2027.
Adeyemo stressed that the party is committed to dialogue and reconciliation, expressing confidence that the committee would restore lasting peace and strengthen internal unity. He maintained that the APC remains a formidable political force and disclosed that the party’s target is to deliver one million votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while reclaiming the Oyo State Government House in the 2027 elections.
Members of the reconciliation committee include Senator Brimo Yusuf, Chief Akin Oke, Senator Hosea Agboola, Mrs. Kemi Alao-Akala, Hon. Niran Alarape, Hon. Olagunju Ojo, Dr. Adebayo Adewusi, Pa Timothy Jolaoso, Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi, Engr. Idris Adeoye, Alhaji Isiaka Alimi, Aare Abisoye Fagade, Dr. Adekemi Opatunde, Engr. Dayo Lawal, Chief Goke Oyetunji, Alhaji Mufutau Adisa, Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe, Mrs. Mabel Williams and other party stakeholders.
