Germany-based education technology organisation, EIDU, has provided English and Mathematics learning materials to pupils in public primary schools across Oyo State in a move to improve foundational education and enhance learning outcomes.
The materials, targeted at pupils in Primary 1 to Primary 3, are designed to complement classroom teaching, strengthen literacy and numeracy skills, and make learning more effective at the foundational level.
The initiative was officially launched on Friday at Community Basic School, Ikolaba, Ibadan, where the Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, applauded the organisation for its sustained contributions to the state’s education sector.
Dr. Adeniran described the intervention as a reflection of the importance of collaboration between government and private organisations in expanding access to quality education.
He explained that the donation aligned with the Oyo State Government’s efforts to ensure that children across the state benefit from free and quality basic education.
The OYOSUBEB chairman also recalled EIDU’s previous interventions, particularly its digital training programmes for teachers and pupils, noting that the latest initiative would further strengthen ongoing efforts to improve teaching and learning in public schools.
He added that the learning resources would serve as valuable instructional aids for teachers while giving pupils additional opportunities to practise and improve their proficiency in English and Mathematics.
Adeniran further reaffirmed the Board’s readiness to collaborate with organisations committed to educational development, emphasising the need for sustained investments in teaching resources, teacher support and improved learning conditions.
The distribution is expected to extend to basic education schools across Oyo State, providing supplementary materials to support classroom activities and promote better learning experiences among young pupils.
