Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha has announced the death of her father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka, in an emotional tribute shared on social media.
The actress made the announcement in an Instagram post on Friday, expressing her grief over the loss and reflecting on the pain of becoming an orphan following the death of her mother 13 years ago.
She described the loss as deeply heartbreaking, noting that the absence of both parents has left an emotional void in her life.
“My beloved father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka, has gone to be with the Lord,” she wrote.
Recalling her late father with affection, Chukwuka referred to him as her comfort and expressed gratitude for the years they shared together.
She also appreciated the opportunity her father had to witness the growth of his children and grandchildren, although the family had hoped he would live long enough to meet his great-grandchildren.
The actress further reflected on the emotional weight of losing a parent, regardless of how many years they have spent together, noting that the desire for more conversations, embraces and shared moments never truly fades.
She expressed gratitude for the memories she created with her father, particularly the time they spent together towards the final stage of his life.
Chukwuka explained that she had kept the news private while processing her grief before deciding to make the announcement public.
She appealed to the public to remember her, her siblings and the entire Chukwuka family in their prayers as they navigate the difficult period.
The actress added that the family would communicate details of her father’s funeral arrangements at the appropriate time.
Paying a final tribute, she described him as the Olowo of Ikate and reaffirmed her enduring love for him.
She accompanied the post with biblical references, including Proverbs 17:6 and Psalm 34:18, drawing comfort from the scriptures as she mourned her father.
