The revered throne of Ile-Ife has received another moment of historic recognition as Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has been honoured with the title “Emperor of All Kings in Africa and the Diaspora.”

The honour was bestowed by Apapo Oba Yoruba in Africa Diaspora, a global body of Yoruba traditional rulers, in acknowledgement of the monarch’s sustained efforts to strengthen unity among Yoruba people around the world.
According to the group, the recognition reflects the Ooni’s growing influence in promoting Yoruba heritage, advancing cultural diplomacy, and fostering collaboration among traditional institutions across Africa and in diaspora communities.

Since ascending the ancient throne of Ile-Ife, widely regarded as the spiritual cradle of the Yoruba race, Oba Ogunwusi has championed initiatives aimed at reconnecting Yoruba descendants globally, while revitalizing interest in the traditions, history, and cultural identity of the Oduduwa lineage.
Observers note that the honour goes beyond a personal accolade. It also underscores the enduring spiritual and historical significance of the Ife throne within the Yoruba traditional system.

By accepting the recognition, the Ooni reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening unity among Yoruba monarchs and deepening cultural ties among sons and daughters of Oduduwa worldwide.
The latest honour further elevates the global standing of the Ife monarch as a custodian of Yoruba civilization and a unifying voice linking traditional institutions across continents. 👑🌍
