Nigeria’s creative industry may receive a boost following the launch of a new initiative by Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage aimed at developing young talents and strengthening professional training in the sector.
The music star unveiled the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation in Lagos, announcing that 100 emerging creatives have been selected for a specialised training programme designed to equip them with skills across different aspects of the music business.

The programme, organised in partnership with Berklee College of Music, will expose participants to areas such as film scoring, music publishing, music therapy, production and sound engineering through a four-day intensive training session.
Speaking at the launch event held at The Delborough Lagos, Savage said the foundation was created to address gaps in education and infrastructure within Nigeria’s music ecosystem and to provide global exposure for emerging talents.

The event attracted notable personalities including Don Jazzy, Mo Abudu and Johnny Drille, while Babajide Sanwo-Olu also attended to show support for the initiative.
According to the governor, the foundation represents a significant step toward empowering young creatives and strengthening Nigeria’s creative economy, while industry stakeholders expressed optimism that the programme would nurture the next generation of music professionals.
