Police Rescue Kidnap Victim Unhurt in Igbeti, Launch Manhunt for Suspects

The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the successful rescue of a kidnapped victim in the Igbeti area of the state, following a coordinated security operation.
The victim, identified as Alhaji Gede Yusuf, 30, of Old Oyo National Park, Dauda Village via Igbeti, was reportedly abducted, with the incident promptly reported at the Igbeti Divisional Police Headquarters. The report triggered an immediate response from security operatives.
Police authorities said the Command, working in collaboration with other security agencies and local stakeholders, launched sustained intelligenceed bush-combing operations across identified flashpoints.
 The pressure mounted by the joint security team forced the abductors to abandon the victim, who was later rescued unharmed.
The victim was subsequently taken to a hospital for medical attention and has since been discharged in stable condition.
The Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, commended the gallantry of police operatives and the collaboration of partner agencies and community members that led to the successful rescue. He directed the Command’s Anti Kidnapping Squad to debrief the victim thoroughly as investigations continue, assuring that efforts are underway to track down, arrest, and prosecute those responsible.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property, urging residents to provide timely and credible information to security agencies.
