The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with the alleged killing of his elder brother in Sepeteri area of the state.
The incident was reported at the Ago-Amodu Divisional Police Headquarters by a resident, Badmus Yunisa of Alegunlode Compound, Sepeteri.
According to the report, the suspect, Lateef Suleiman, 43, allegedly attacked his elder brother, Mustapha Amidu, 52, over claims that the deceased had shot him in a dream the previous night.
Police sources said the suspect allegedly approached his brother while he was seated, picked up a heavy rock, struck him on the head and fled the scene. The victim was rushed to Ileri Oluwa Hospital, Sepeteri, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty.
A team of operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer of Ago-Amodu Division visited the scene and the hospital as part of preliminary investigations.
The suspect has since been arrested and is said to be cooperating with investigators.
The Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation, assuring the public that justice will be pursued in accordance with the law.
