has urged parents to develop confidence in public education and enroll their children in government-owned schools.

The council chairman stated that the era of poor administration in public schools had been redefined since the assumption of office of Governor Seyi Makinde in 2019.
He added that the state government has continued to reposition the education sector through improved administration, provision of teaching materials, and development of infrastructure in public schools.
Olufade said the current elementary education policy in the state reflects the visionary educational reforms introduced by the late sage, Obafemi Awolowo, particularly the free education programme of the 1970s.
He commended Governor Makinde’s administration for empowering teachers with the necessary tools to perform their duties effectively, while also ensuring prompt payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities.
The council boss therefore appealed to parents to cooperate with government by enrolling their wards in public schools, assuring that the education sector would continue to witness improvements that would make students globally competitive.
Earlier in her remarks, the Chief Coordinator of the Catch Them Young Initiative and founder of Bright Lens Media Networks, Ayodeni Aluko, advised pupils to remain focused, disciplined and hardworking in pursuit of their dreams.
The event, which attracted parents, teachers and school administrators, also featured the inauguration of various educational clubs aimed at nurturing leadership and intellectual development among pupils.
The newly inaugurated club coordinators include Muhammed Munirat (Health Club), Akinfenwa Michael (Press Club), Adebo Dumininu (JET Club), Nduka Patrick (Environmental Club), Alor Solomon (Quiz and Debate Club) and William Promise (Security Club).
Among other dignitaries present at the event was the Education Secretary of Ibadan North East Local Government, Comrade Adedotun George Olubayo, alongside other stakeholders in the education sector.
