The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) has commenced the distribution of instructional materials to public primary and junior secondary schools across the state under the 2024 FGN-UBEC/SUBEB Intervention Programme.

The flag-off ceremony, held at the Board’s headquarters in Agodi, Ibadan, was carried out in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), marking the beginning of a large-scale supply of textbooks, learning aids and other educational materials to schools statewide.
Speaking at the event, OYOSUBEB Chairman, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, said the intervention includes thousands of core subject textbooks such as Mathematics and English for nursery and primary classes, Science and Technology books, 40,000 six-year Continuous Assessment Cards, as well as school bags, sandals, exercise books and pencils.
He emphasised that the materials are institutional resources meant for active classroom use, urging school heads to ensure proper accountability and utilisation.
Stakeholders at the event, including SUBEB board members and the Nigeria Union of Teachers, commended the initiative, describing it as a strategic step toward improving learning outcomes and strengthening collaboration between the Federal and Oyo State Governments to enhance basic education delivery.
