Oyo Govt Enforces Industrial Standards as Durante Farms Upgrades Effluent Plant

The Oyo State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental protection as Durante Farms Limited commenced the upgrade of its Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to meet global standards.
The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Engr. (Dr.) Ademola Aderinto, who flagged off the project, described the move as a decisive step toward strengthening industrial compliance and safeguarding public health across Oyo State. He stressed that industries must operate strictly within approved environmental regulations to protect host communities.
The Commissioner, said industries that engaged in wet processing activities such as food production, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals generate wastewater that must be properly treated before discharge to prevent contamination of groundwater and nearby water bodies. He emphasized that compliance with environmental standards remains mandatory.
Dr. Aderinto commended the management of Durante Farms for responding promptly to the Ministry’s directive and aligning with global best practices. He added that the upgrade would minimize environmental risks, enhance operational efficiency and promote sustainability.
In his remarks, the company’s Human Resources Manager, Mogaji Adekola Kamorudeen, reaffirmed Durante Farms’ commitment to environmental sustainability, public health and staff welfare, noting that the firm complies with regulatory standards, including the Federal Government’s approved minimum wage policy.
