Oyo APC Congress Harps on Unity as Adeyemo Emerges State Chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has sent strong message of unity and reconciliation to party members at the just concluded  state congress, with the emergence of former Deputy Governor, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, as State Chairman.
The congress, held at the Liberty Stadium, followed the completion of ward and local government congresses across the 33 local government areas of the state and was supervised by a committee constituted by the party’s national leadership in Abuja.
The announcement of Adeyemo’s emergence was made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) , National Youth Leader and Secretary of the party’s ad hoc zoning committee, Afeez Bolaji, while Congress Committee Chairman, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, confirmed that the exercise complied with party rules.
Party leaders, including Teslim Folarin, Hon. Akin Alabi and Hon. Remi Oseni, described the consensus arrangement as a reflection of internal democracy and fairness, urging members to close ranks ahead of future elections.
In his acceptance speech, Adeyemo pledged to operate an inclusive administration that would accommodate all tendencies within the party, with emphasis on discipline, unity and grassroots mobilization.
The former Deputy Governor, who served between 2011 and 2019 under the late Abiola Ajimobi, assured members that the new executive would reposition the APC as a formidable political force in Oyo State.
Also elected at the congress were Wasiu Olawale Sadare, who retained his position as Publicity Secretary, Dr. Taofeek Lamidi as Deputy Chairman, and Hon. Lukman Owonikoko as State Secretary.
Stakeholders and party members commended the peaceful and orderly conduct of the congress, expressing optimism that the new leadership would strengthen party structures at both ward and local government levels.
