The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in addressing infrastructure and welfare challenges in the state.


He gave the assurance while receiving the Oyo State Coordinator of the scheme, Mr. Kayode Ola Peters, during a courtesy visit to his office in Ibadan.
Discussions at the meeting centered on pressing issues affecting the NYSC in Oyo State, particularly the condition of the Permanent Orientation Camp and the increasing number of Corps Members deployed to the state each year.
The Speaker, Ogundoyin acknowledged the critical role of the scheme in promoting youth development, national unity and grassroots service, assuring the delegation that the House would explore necessary legislative and institutional measures to improve camp infrastructure and strengthen welfare initiatives for Corps Members.
He emphasized the need to provide a conducive environment that would enable young graduates to serve effectively and contribute meaningfully to community development.
Earlier, the State Coordinator highlighted the urgent need for additional accommodation and improved logistics at the orientation camp to meet rising demands. He commended the Assembly for its previous support and expressed optimism that sustained collaboration would further enhance NYSC operations and service delivery across Oyo State.
