Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of Major General Lukman Tokunbo Omoniyi (rtd) as Executive Adviser on Security Coordination.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was conveyed in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde.
Governor Makinde, congratulated the retired army officer, and charged him to strengthen the coordination of security operations across the state to ensure the safety of lives and property in all communities.
Major-General Omoniyi is a seasoned senior infantry officer with wide experience in command, staff and instructional roles within various military formations and units of the Nigerian Army.
He holds two Master of Science degrees in Humanitarian and Refugees Studies and Strategic Studies from the University of Ibadan and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Peace, Security and Humanitarian Studies at the same institution.
