The INEC Chairman, Joash Amupitan,has registered two new political parties.
He announced this development on Thursday in Abuja during the commission’s first regular consultative meeting with political parties, disclosing that the newly registered parties are the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Amupitan explained that the registration followed a rigorous evaluation process, noting that the commission received no fewer than 171 letters of intent from associations seeking recognition as political parties, out of which only two met the required criteria.
