The Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has decorated eight senior police officers recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG).
The decoration ceremony was held on Monday at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, where the IGP officially presented the new ranks to the officers.
The newly promoted DIGs are Zachariah Fera Achinyan, Zango Ibrahim Baba, Isyaku Mohammed, Margaret Agebe Ochalla, Mohammed Abdul Sulaiman, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha, and Umar Shehu Nadada. They will work alongside Olabode Adeleye Akinbamilowo, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police and Force Secretary, as members of the new force management team.

In a statement by the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, Isuku Victor, the IGP urged the officers to provide strategic leadership, strengthen internal discipline, and drive reforms aimed at addressing the country’s security challenges.
He also charged them to deploy their experience in intelligence-led policing, operational coordination, and inter-agency collaboration to build public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
