Dr. Temitope Oladimeji, popularly known as OTOPE, is increasingly being mentioned among figures whose grassroots engagement is shaping discussions in the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency,as political conversations gradually shifting toward the 2027 general elections.
Dr. Oladimeji’s growing visibility in the constituency is largely linked to the activities of the OTOPE Foundation, a platform through which he has carried out several community focused interventions over the years.
Through the initiative, thousands of residents across Egbeda and Ona-Ara have benefited from health outreach programmes that provided free medical consultations, screenings for ailments such as malaria and hypertension, and distribution of essential medications.
The foundation has also extended support to education by assisting public school pupils with scholarships, learning materials and mentorship initiatives aimed at encouraging academic development among children from low-income families.
Youth and women empowerment has equally featured prominently in the foundation’s work, with beneficiaries receiving vocational training and micro-grants to support small-scale enterprises.
In addition, some communities within the constituency have witnessed small scale development projects including boreholes, renovation of public school facilities and installation of solar-powered streetlights to improve safety and access to basic amenities.
Observers within the constituency note that the consistent engagement with residents has helped position Oladimeji as a familiar figure within the political landscape of the area.
For many supporters, his approach reflects a long-term strategy built on grassroots presence and community connection rather than sudden political emergence.
As political consultations and alignments begin to take shape ahead of 2027, discussions within Egbeda and Ona-Ara suggest that OTOPE’s sustained social interventions are contributing to a profile that some constituents consider noteworthy in the evolving race for representation at the National Assembly.
