The FederalGovernment has announced that consignments of Lenacapavir, a breakthrough HIV prevention drug, are expected to arrive in Nigeria by March 2026.
In a statement issued on Monday, the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) disclosed that preparations are in advanced stages for the introduction and nationwide rollout of Lenacapavir (LEN) as a pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) option.
The agency said the move underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening HIV prevention efforts and accelerating progress toward controlling the epidemic.
NACA further revealed that coordinated measures are ongoing to ensure a structured and quality-assured rollout, particularly in priority states.
