The Member representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Ajia Olubadan of Ibadanland, Akin Alabi, has appealed to Muslim and Christian faithful to use the holy seasons of Ramadan and Lent to pray for peace, unity and national progress.
In a statement issued to mark the commencement of the sacred periods, Alabi urged believers to devote the season to deep spiritual reflection, renewed commitment to God, and earnest supplication for the continued stability and socio-economic development of Nigeria.
He encouraged the faithful to seek divine mercy and guidance not only for Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency but also for the country at large.
The lawmaker stressed that the solemn seasons of fasting and prayer should inspire greater harmony, compassion and a sense of collective responsibility among Nigerians. He called on citizens, irrespective of religious affiliation, to embrace the virtues of humility, tolerance, self-discipline, sacrifice and care for the less privileged, noting that such values remain vital to peaceful coexistence and sustainable national development.
Alabi further prayed that God would accept the sacrifices and supplications of the faithful and grant Nigeria enduring peace, unity and prosperity.
