The 2027 governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, has taken his ongoing grassroots consultations to Olorunsogo and Irepo Local Government Areas, engaging traditional rulers, traders, artisans, youths, party leaders and other community stakeholders.
During the visits on Wednesday, September 23, Adekanmbi listened to concerns on infrastructure, healthcare, youth employment, empowerment and the utilisation of mineral resources in the communities. At the palace of the Onigbeti of Igbeti, HRM Oba (Engr.) Bashir Olalekan Abioye, Siyanbola IV, stakeholders called for the reconstruction of the Iseyin-Igbeti road, improved inner-town roads and the upgrade of Igbeti General Hospital to a state-owned facility.
They also sought policies that would ensure the host community benefits more from the area’s mineral resources, alongside increased employment opportunities and representation in government.
In Kishi, where Adekanmbi visited the palace of the Iba of Kishi, HRM Oba M.O. Lawal Arowoduye II (JP), stakeholders raised similar concerns, including youth empowerment, employment for educated youths, improved roads and the establishment of a vocational centre and specialised training programmes for artisans.
Adekanmbi assured the stakeholders that the issues raised would be considered as he develops his governance agenda. He said the consultations were intended to give communities an opportunity to articulate their needs and ensure that such concerns are reflected in his proposed development plans. 
The APM candidate also met with party leaders and members across the two local government areas, appreciating their commitment and urging them to sustain mobilisation for the party and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
