The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has commended Muslim faithful across Nigeria and beyond for their unwavering spiritual commitment, discipline, and sacrifice during the just concluded 30-day Ramadan fast.
In a goodwill message to mark the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, Ogundoyin described Ramadan as a sacred period of deep reflection, self denial, and renewed devotion to Allah, noting that the successful completion of the fast underscores the resilience and steadfast faith of the Muslim Ummah.
The Speaker lauded the virtues of patience, compassion, generosity, and unity demonstrated by Muslims throughout the fasting period, emphasizing that such values are critical to promoting peace, stability, and harmony in society.
He urged adherents of Islam to sustain these noble qualities beyond the Ramadan season, allowing them to shape their daily conduct and contributions to national development.
Ogundoyin also highlighted the need to continue extending love and support to the less privileged, stressing that the spirit of giving, which defines Ramadan, should not end with the festivities.
While congratulating Muslims on witnessing another Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the Speaker called on all Nigerians to uphold the principles of tolerance, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
He further reaffirmed the commitment of the Oyo State House of Assembly to enacting people oriented legislation aimed at improving the welfare and well-being of all residents, regardless of their religious, political, or social affiliations.
Ogundoyin prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the fasting, prayers, and supplications offered during Ramadan, and grants lasting peace, progress, and prosperity to Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
