A 35-year-old woman accused of opening fire at the Los Angeles residence of Barbadian singer and businesswoman Rihanna has been charged with attempted murder.
Prosecutors in Los Angeles identified the suspect as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, who allegedly carried out the shooting at the luxury property on Sunday.
Aerial footage taken after the incident reportedly showed several bullet holes in a gate at the estate, which the singer shares with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their three children.
According to reports, Ortiz, a resident of Florida, had previously been involuntarily committed and also lost custody of her then 10-year-old child.
Investigators also reviewed a Facebook page believed to belong to the suspect, which contains posts and videos referencing several celebrities, including Kim Kardashian and Cardi B. In one of the posts, she reportedly tagged Rihanna and challenged the singer to respond to her directly.
In another video, the suspect allegedly claimed that the singer wanted to kill her.
Prosecutors charged Ortiz with one count of attempted murder, 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, two counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling, and one count of shooting at an inhabited vehicle.
She has been ordered to remain in custody with bail set at 1.875 million dollars and was instructed to have no contact with Rihanna.
Ortiz is expected to appear in court on March 25.
Police earlier said an AR-15-style rifle was used in the shooting, which occurred in broad daylight on Sunday while Rihanna was reportedly inside the residence.
