Oyo Speaker, Ogundoyin Convenes PDP Stakeholders’ Meeting in Ibarapa East, Reiterates Unity and Grassroots Mobilization

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has convened a series of high-level stakeholders’ engagements with members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibarapa East Local Government, emphasising  unity, grassroots mobilization, and preparations ahead of forth coming elections.

The meetings, were held in two sessions across different venues in the constituency, which brought together a cross-section of party leaders, ward and local government executives, political office holders, and party members.

While  at  the meetings, Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin, who represents Ibarapa East in the Assembly, delivered Governor Seyi Makinde’s message noting that the PDP remains one united family in Oyo State, with no room for division or parallel structures. He assured party members that there won’t be  parallel congresses, or parallel lists, and no imposition of candidates in the coming political season.

“The message from His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, is very clear. PDP is one. We are united in purpose, and we will work together to win all upcoming elections. Candidates will emerge through consensus, not imposition,” the Speaker affirmed.

Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin also spoke about the importance of the ongoing voter registration exercise, stressing that active participation by citizens will be keysto strengthening the party’s chances in future elections.

“We must not joke with the ongoing voter registration. This is our future. Every vote will count, and every new voter strengthens our party’s chances,” he said.

Other party chieftains who spoke at the sessions included Hon. Moses Ojoawo, former Commissioner and Chairman of the Stakeholders’ Forum; and Chief Adewale Atanda Alase, a member of the Oyo State Advisory Council. They reiterated,the call for increased voter registration, especially mobilizing youths and first-time voters, as well as, assisting others to update their voter information.

The meetings revealed, party members commitment to party unity, and strategic dialogue on grassroots engagement, as the party continues to consolidate its dominance in Ibarapa East and across Oyo State.
