Political associates and a prominent support group have called on Saheed Akinade-Fijabi to declare his ambition for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State, citing his leadership credentials and growing influence across the state.

The group, Oyo Agenda for Sustainable Development, described Akinade-Fijabi as a visionary leader with the capacity to unify diverse interests, stressing that his handling of the anniversary celebration demonstrated readiness for higher responsibility.
One of his political associate pointed out increase in pressure from stakeholders and residents who urged him to step forward and offer himself for service in 2027, noting his tested and trusted figure in the state’s political landscape.
Akinade-Fijabi, who was a former member of the House of Representatives, as well received commendation for his organisational skills and inclusive leadership style during the anniversary event, which observers say boosted the state’s image.
Supporters further added that his appointment by Governor Makinde reflects the level of trust reposed in him by the current administration, insisting that such confidence is rooted in his competence and commitment to the state’s development.
Though Akinade-Fijabi is yet to formally declare his intention, political watchers believe the growing endorsements and calls from allies may shape his decision as the 2027 governorship race gradually gathers momentum.
